Are all my entries only going to be weekly? Not intentionally but only as long as I feel I’m having a really bad time at work (exhibit A: last week). My depression hasn’t lifted - I still don’t sleep very well.

However, it’s another bank holiday weekend. They may have been pre-planned for anything up to a century but this one certainly came along at a good time. Today Graham and I repeated our walk around Box Hill, albeit starting at a different point meaning all the tough near-vertical climbing was over and done with early on. The weather held out and we had a pleasant lunch and drink at the pub in Mickleham. A good day.

Tomorrow (or Monday), I’m popping over to see Denise at her current/old house to watch her continue to do it up in advance of selling. Weather may not be so good.

Otherwise, I bought a book: The Global Institutions: UN General Assembly by MJ Peterson and have just had a fight with my cable modem/wireless router combination that suddenly died on me but, after multiple switching on and off, seems to have come back to life. I don’t know why. The cable modem connection (i.e. ntl) sometimes goes ka-ka requiring a reboot; it might have gone into full kamikazi mode and tried to take the router with it. Either way, its dastardly schemes have been foiled for the time being.

Terry is well and busy mulching his garden.

Too much silence again - due to me having another rotten week at work, despite the bank holiday (though I did visit my mother and steal her old TV - a nice 25″ screen that should satisfy Terry next time he’s here).

Otherwise, today is beautifully sunny and the first warm day of the year so I lunched/picnic’d by the castle, as did many others. Now back to reconfiguring Fedora Core 5 after, wiping it to install Ubuntu, deciding that wasn’t much better in solving my screen resolution problem and changing everything back again. I was almost tempted to buy a Mac.

It’s a bank holiday weekend coming up… and I feel I need it.

However, I saw The Queen today. She was visiting Guildford as part of a Maundy Money ceremony. There was an added bonus that, with everyone lining up to see her, the Post Office was mostly empty at lunchtime and I got served very quickly.

Also the International Court of Justice is 60 years old today.

Meanwhile, I managed to get IMAP filtering working in Exim. It turns out not to be as bad as I had feared.

I miss Terry.

Email is back again. My provider changed over from qmail to exim and now all my IMAP filtering has stopped working. I gather that the equivalent in exim is non-trivial so I’m not a happy bunny.

Save Parliament!.

My hosting provider did a major upgrade today and have b0rked email to all messages to me are bouncing. Hopefully it should be fixed soon (I’ve shouted at them) but, failing that, I’ll provide an alternative address - as well as giving serious consideration to moving to a different host.

Terry flew back today and I’m sad. The house seems so empty without him, though I plan to visit him sometime in August/September.

Oh, so much silence. Not a great deal going on (we, as in Denise, Daryl and Terry, visited Greenwich a couple of weekends back - it was chilly but interesting).

Otherwise, preparing for Terry to go back on Tuesday - not to return until probably November though I plan to visit him August/September time. Denise might even be accompanying me!
