Honestly, because I’m all sixes-and-sevens over splitting up from boyf and getting and new place and having to lodge in other people’s houses until that’s sorted, I forgot about my credit card and have missed a payment. Usually I pride myself on fiscal management (a la Gordon Brown). Hopefully nothing nasty should happen but I may end up with a charge I could well do without right now.

Valery Giscard D’Estaing has presented a draft of the European Convention’s constitutional treaty. It’s only an outline at the moment, with the detail to be filled in at a later date.

Damn, damn, DAMN! I’ve just realised I’ve missed the European Commission’s irc session, where Giscard D’Estaing was answering questions on the Convention. I’d been looking forward to joining in, given that I never got round to making my submission :(

Having seen the Euronews channel on satellite, I looked up their website and I’m very impressed, especially with the EU coverage. Articles are slightly shorter than I’d like but at least they are presented without the negative, slightly ‘right-wing’ slant of EU Observer (the only other site that properly covers EU news).

I should take some photos here. I left practically all I took in Madison (and environs) behind when I departed so hastily.

Despite everything, I still miss him.

It’s windy out today.

Watched Enigma on DVD. Very good, if a little heavy on the technical details (and consequently necessarily long sequences where one character has to explain the plot).

Fortunately, according to the doctor, all I had was a very, very bad sore throat which often causes ’such things’. Boy, am I relieved.

Here I am staying at my mother’s for a week. Ho-hum.

My sore throat has become worse and this morning I coughed up some blood (sorry for sharing that). I have an emergency appointment with the doctor at 10.45am. This is not a good time - I have to be packed and gone by midday tomorrow, having first tided up and got a haircut.

I have a sore throat.

Only just noticed that two Working Groups on the European Convention have reported. I shall read their recommendations with interest.

I have 13826 BA miles to spend. That allows me to travel to places like Paris, Milan or Frankfurt. I may spend them on going to Brussels (as I plan to do sometime, hopefully within the next three months).

As of today I’m staying at Daryl’s house this week, visiting my mother next week, staying at Denise’s cottage again the week after then finally moving in. That is the plan (of men rather than mice).

Yesterday I felt a pang of regret over ending it with boyf. I do miss him and hope he isn’t too hurt. Things couldn’t have continued and I have to go forward.

I have a new flat (pending references). It’s not quite as nice as my previous one but is a bit bigger and comes unfurnished, apart from white goods (hooray!), so it can be stocked entirely with my own tasteful furniture. Such that I have any. It’s also a bit further away from work but plans to buy a car are in progress.

I should be moving in on 8th November.

So far I feel contented over giving up my relationship. There’s so much I want to do that I felt I couldn’t if I gave it all up and went to America. Will this continue?

Meanwhile, how the hell does someone find their way to my site with the search term: which country made a sunglasses in year 1603?
