Rough day at work. Well, a rough week actually over the project I’m working on. Lots to do and no time to do it in. Have I been here before? (Answer: yes)
Must buy a Valentine’s card for boyf. Remember: it takes four working days to get four-thousand miles. In the meantime flights to Chicago for April should have dropped in price.
ukbreadmaker.org is up and pointing to the fugue page. Now I have extra impetus to create the one-and-only UK breadmaker resource.
Weekend: get haircut, clean house, retrieve sleeping bag, make music and be the dreamer of dreams.

I’ve just calculated my BMI (Body Mass Index) which is a way of telling if you’re overweight relative to your height. Mine came out as 27 which seems to be in the ‘over but not a crisis’ category. Ideal is between 20 and 25. At least I have a specific goal to achieve.
BTW if you’re interested the formula is:
BMI = w/(h*h)
where weight and height are in Kg and m respectively.

After being prompted by a health article in the Independent, I’ve decided to drink more water (aim: 8 glasses a day) and eat more fruit. The downside is that apples are the only fruit I really like and water tastes… well, tasteless. However if it stops me feeling so lethargic in the evenings, so much the better.
Mother is coming to stay next week for a few days. Should be nice.

So much for the chocolate resolution (should I call it an ‘aspiration’ a la New Labour?). I’m munching my way through a packet of Bourbon Creams as I type.
Another sexy email from boyf
I wish I had enough leave to visit earlier. My leave allocation is very strange as it goes from April to March. Ah well, I’m sure I’d only waste it in the same way otherwise.
Creating a UK breadmaker resource page is under way(!)

Cool! I’ve been contacted by the owners of dreamfish.co.uk and dreamfish.nl. I feel heartened by this world-wide dreamfish camaradere.
Interior design traumas: first I can’t find any throws for my sofa. Then when I do, the piece of paper I wrote down the measurements on vanishes from my pocket. Is nature trying to tell me something? Do throws anger God?

Hello Terry!

Some throws and nicer (as in anything that is not dreadful) net curtains for my new flat and closure will have been achieved.
Much logging improvement on my site, after prompting by Daryl who is after something similar. Now I can track all those people who go direct to my bread maker page, which seems to be the most popular reason for visiting. I’m tempted to expand it into a more complete UK bread maker resource.
A friend may be joining in the IMAP library project. There is hope for it yet.

New year’s resolutions:
1. Eat less chocolate
2. Exercise/get in shape
3. Travel more (maybe even in my own country)
4. Actually complete some of my software projects
5. Update website more
6. Move to US
7. Replace net curtains with something nicer (in progress)
Seven isn’t bad - I’m sure I could have thought of more. However this is the year I turn 30 so maybe I should add:
8. Become more intransigent.
